A couple stands at the edge of a sea cliff, silhouetted against a low golden sun, her veil lifting in the wind.
Dawn over a still mountain lake; a couple stands at the end of a long wooden dock, mirrored in the water.
A couple walks hand in hand through tall backlit grass as the sun flares low behind a line of trees.

Hello

I’m Maren. I photograph weddings, elopements and portraits for people who would rather be present than posed — mostly along this coast, sometimes far from it. I take on twenty weddings a year, so each one gets all of me.

02Stories

Whole days, start to finish

A gallery shows the best frames. A story shows how the day actually felt — the waiting, the weather, the people at the edges.

Story 01 · September

Ines & Theo

A cliffside wedding at Hollis Point

The forecast said fog until four. It burned off at ten past, which is how we ended up on the edge of the point with fourteen minutes of sun and Theo’s grandmother holding everyone’s shoes.

Story 02 · June

Priya & Sam

An elopement at Coldwater Lake, at dawn

Just the two of them, an officiant, and a very good dog. We started the hike at four in the morning with headlamps and read the vows as the light came over the ridge.

Story 03 · November

June & Ellis

A harbor wedding, in the rain

It rained from breakfast to the last dance. We leaned into it — the old pier in the fog, window light in the ferry house, every umbrella the venue owned.

03Approach

Hi, I’m Maren.

I came to photography through the darkroom, where you learn to wait for an image instead of chasing it. I still work that way: I watch for the moment and the light to line up, then get out of the way.

  1. 01

    Light first

I build your day’s timeline around the last hour of sun, so the frames that matter most happen in the best light.

  2. 02

    Mostly unposed

Gentle prompts, never a shot list read out loud. You spend the day with your people, not with me.

  3. 03

    Edited by hand

Every frame in your gallery is chosen and toned by me. No bought presets, no outsourced editing.

06Kind words

“We forgot she was there. Then the photographs arrived and it was all of it — the wind, the light, Theo’s dad crying at the edge of the cliff.”
Ines R. · Hollis Point
“She hiked up to the lake with us at four in the morning and never once made it feel like a photo shoot.”
Priya K. · Coldwater Lake
“It rained all day. Somehow those are the most beautiful pictures we own.”
